Wash Bay Solutions
Compliant wash bays — drainage layout, slip-rated surfaces, bunding and safety barriers.
The scope, in detail.
Wash bays carry EPA water-quality obligations and slip-hazard liability in one corner of your site. We deliver the line marking, slip-rated treatments, bunding, drainage edge marking and physical separation needed to keep them legal and safe to use every shift.
Built to Australian Standards.
Every wash bay solutions install we deliver references these standards. We hand them over in writing at sign-off.
Wash Bay Solutions, answered.
What's bunding and do I need it?
Bunding is a raised edge (usually 50–100mm) that contains wash water within the bay so it can drain to a designated trade-waste pit rather than into stormwater. Yes — most commercial wash bays legally require it.
Can you make an existing concrete bay compliant?
Often yes. We install bunding (chemical-anchored steel or concrete kerb), apply slip-rated coating, and mark the drainage perimeter. Major drainage changes may require your plumber.
What slip rating do wash bays need?
P5 (the highest pedestrian classification) for wet zones. Standard concrete is typically P2–P3 when wet — well below safe. We apply slip-rated coatings or grind in a textured finish.
Do you coordinate with our plumber?
Yes — we handle the visible/physical works (marking, slip surface, bunding, bollards) while your plumber installs the trade-waste pit, oil separator and drainage connection. We sequence the works together.
How long does a wash bay install take?
2–4 days typical for retrofit (depending on cure times for coatings). New-build installs sequenced with your concrete pour can be faster.
What about signage?
Wash bay signage covers EPA notice requirements, operator safety, and trade-waste information. We supply and install — typically a single regulatory sign plus an operator-instructions sign.
