Safety & Protection
Armco, corner guards, column protectors, kerbs — the gear that absorbs hits so your building doesn't.
The scope, in detail.
Buildings get expensive when concrete columns, ramp walls and corners take repeated impacts. We install the impact-rated products that catch the hit first — armco crash barriers along ramps, hi-vis foam-and-steel column protectors, sacrificial corner guards on tight turns.
Built to Australian Standards.
Every safety & protection install we deliver references these standards. We hand them over in writing at sign-off.
Safety & Protection, answered.
Do armco barriers actually work in car parks?
Yes, where vehicles can reach 15+ km/h — basement ramps, loading dock approaches, vehicle access lanes. They redirect a vehicle along the barrier line rather than letting it strike a column or wall. For sub-10 km/h, bollards are sufficient.
What's a column protector?
A foam-rebound or polyethylene sleeve installed around a structural column to absorb impact. Comes in hi-vis yellow/black. Foam protectors compress on impact and return to shape — no replacement needed for minor strikes.
Do I need fall protection on a car park ramp?
Yes if there's a drop over 1m at any edge — armco barrier or solid wall to AS 1657. We supply and install both galvanised armco and powder-coated steel guard rails.
How long do anti-slip stair nosings last?
The aluminium extrusion lasts the life of the stair. The grip insert (carborundum or rubber) typically lasts 5–8 years in a busy commercial setting before requiring replacement.
Can corner guards be branded?
Yes — custom powder-coat colours, or printed adhesive overlays for branded environments. Standard hi-vis (yellow with black diagonals) remains the highest-visibility option.
What impact rating do I need for crash barriers?
For private car parks: TL-1 to TL-2 (low-speed). For loading docks and vehicle interfaces: TL-2. For roadway interfaces: TL-3 or higher. We specify based on the use case.
