Traffic & Bollard Systems
Steel bollards, wheel stops, speed humps and full traffic-flow design for high-use sites.
The scope, in detail.
Bollards do one job: stop a vehicle reaching what it shouldn’t. We supply and install the full range — fixed steel, removable, retractable, hi-vis, and impact-rated — and pair them with wheel stops, speed humps and route signage so the whole car park reads clearly to a driver coming in for the first time.
Built to Australian Standards.
Every traffic & bollard systems install we deliver references these standards. We hand them over in writing at sign-off.
Traffic & Bollard Systems, answered.
What's the difference between fixed and removable bollards?
Fixed bollards are core-drilled into the slab — permanent, maximum impact resistance. Removable bollards lift out via a triangular key for occasional vehicle access. Retractable bollards drop below ground via a manual or automatic mechanism.
Are rubber speed humps as effective as concrete?
For private car parks at speeds under 15 km/h, yes — and they install in a fraction of the time with no concrete cure delay. We use modular rubber humps with reflective inserts. Concrete is only worth it for higher-speed roadways.
Do you install or just supply?
Both — but installation is what we do best. Most bollards and wheel stops need correct core-drilling depth, chemical anchoring, and spacing to actually do the job they're rated for.
Can you install bollards over existing concrete?
Yes. We core-drill, set chemical anchors, install the bollard, and seal around the base. The slab needs to be at least 100mm thick for fixed bollards.
What colour and finish options are available?
Galvanised raw, powder-coated to any RAL colour, hi-vis safety yellow, or branded to your corporate colours. Reflective tape bands are standard on hi-vis units.
Do wheel stops actually need to be installed every bay?
They're not legally required in private car parks, but they prevent vehicle overhang into walkways and protect walls/curbing. For bays facing pedestrian zones we strongly recommend them.
